The Carbon XL is a great rod for dry fly fishing. For many Northeast anglers that fish tail waters ( East & West Branch ) , we recommend using a 10’ 4wt for fishing CDC emergers, small parachutes and dry flies. This rod can double as a great soft hackle and wet fly rod allowing you to swing flies. The bonus is this is a very affordable rod.
